Introduction

This site deals with my research and teaching interests, which are centred around social marketing, new ventures and co-production. Terms used around this site are explained here.

Social Marketing

Faith leaders and workers and people in statutory organisations such as NHS Trusts are increasingly working together for the delivery of services and undertaking social marketing / health promotion campaigns.

I am interested in two key managerial areas, social marketing and co-production, and the possible role that religion can play in the delivery of social marketing campaigns and co-production initiatives. More about my study of religion in this context is explained here.

Co production

Faith leaders and workers and people in statutory organisations such as NHS Trusts are increasingly working together for the delivery of services and undertaking social marketing / health promotion campaigns.

My research is designed to understand such work and the research outcomes are supposed to help improve the ways in which such people and organisations can co-operate.

New ventures

My Ph.D. thesis was about the marketing activities of entrepreneurs and I have maintained an interest in entrepreneurship since then. My most recent work has been material I have written for the OU's MBA Entrepreneurship elective on risk & trust and also on entrepreneurs' social networks (this was the subject of my M.Phil thesis at the Cranfield School of Management in 1993.

I've applied my work on risk and trust towards the development of a simple online game that allows players to play the risk taking role and see how they can manage risk for themselves. More details about the game and access to it can be obtained from the top of this page.

Texts

I have written various texts for different institutions over the years, a sample of these can be found here.
